The new legislation regarding i-Size requires a new generation of car seats. At the tradeshow in Cologne Maxi-Cosi will introduce the newest flagship AxissFix Plus. AxissFix Plus meets all the requirements of i-Size but can also be turned around 360 degrees. And this offers many advantages. First, you have to struggle less securing or removing your child from the car seat usually standing in an impossible position. Except that this saves your back and neck, there is another important advantage of this 360 degree rotating car seat. According to i-Size it’s mandatory to put children in a backwards position up to 15 months, the safest position if there would be a collision. So up to 15 months you put your child in a backwards position, after that you can rotate the carseat into a forward position.
One car seat from birth to four years
The AxissFix Plus is the successor to the AxissFix but this new type can be used with a baby insert from birth until your child is four years old. This will safe you money, because you only need to purchase one seat! The AxissFix Plus is available at special babyshops for 499 euro’s.
Maxi-Cosi with airbag technology
And then there is more news to report from Maxi-Cosi, although not ready for production yet. The design department is working on the first car seat with air bags. In case of a collision two little airbags incorporated in the shoulder straps are blown up in a fraction of a second to protect the head and neck of the child. Then the little airbags deflate quickly. Really a revolution in the car seat industry!De nieuwe wetgeving omtrent i-Size vraagt om een nieuwe generatie autostoeltjes. Autostoel AxissFix Plus voldoet helemaal aan de eisen van i-Size maar kan ook nog eens 360 graden draaien. En dit biedt een aantal voordelen. Als eerste hoef je als ouder veel minder te hannesen met het vastzetten of het uitnemen van je kind waarvoor je meestal in een onmogelijke houding voorover gebogen staat. Behalve dat dit je rug en nek spaart is er nog een belangrijk voordeel van deze 360 graden draaiende autostoel. Want volgens i-Size is het verplicht om kinderen tot 15 maanden achterwaarts te vervoeren, de meest veilige positie als er onverhoopt een botsing plaatsvindt. Tot 15 maanden zet je je kind dus achterwaarts in het autostoeltje, daarna kun je de autostoel draaien naar een voorwaartse positie en kijkt je kind naar voren.
Eén autostoel vanaf geboorte tot vier jaar
De AxissFix Plus is de opvolger van de AxissFix, maar dit nieuwe type kun je met een verkleinkussen al vanaf de geboorte gebruiken totdat je kind vier jaar oud is. Dat scheelt in de portemonnee, want je bent met een aanschaf klaar! De AxissFix Plus is verkrijgbaar in de betere babyspeciaalzaak voor 499 euro.
Maxi-Cosi met airbag technologie
En dan is er nog meer nieuws te melden van Maxi-Cosi, hoewel nog niet rijp voor productie. De ontwerpafdeling is bezig met het eerste autostoeltje waarin airbags zijn verwerkt. Bij een botsing blazen twee kleine airbags verwerkt in de schouderbanden zich in een fractie van een seconde op om het hoofd en de nek van het kind te beschermen. Daarna lopen de airbags snel leeg. Een revolutie in autostoeltjesland!
