It must have been a touching image when the curtains of the runway opened for the Viva la Mamma fashion show at the Milano Moda Donna Milan. Here Dolce & Gabbana presented their new autumn and winter collection with the theme: Viva la Mamma! Like many men in Southern Europe founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana adore their mother, and with this show they want to honor motherhood all over the world.
The models on the catwalk were dressed in Sicilian black satin and lace dresses, suits, coats and dresses in soft pink, white, red and dark green. The theme, that’s no wonder, was: red roses. They seemed to be scattered over the collection or were enlarged as application. Many models walked hand in hand with their own children or carried their babies in their arms, obviously their children were wrapped in baby clothes and children’s wear of D&G that matched with their mothers perfectly. Het moet een aandoenlijk beeld geweest zijn toen de gordijnen van de catwalk open schoven voor de Viva la Mamma fashionshow tijdens de Milano Moda Donna in Milaan. Dolce & Gabbana presenteerde hier de nieuwe herfst- en wintercollectie met als thema: Viva la Mamma! Net zoals zoveel mannen in Zuid Europa adoreren oprichters Domenico Dolce en Stefano Gabbana hun moeder, en met deze show willen ze het moederschap over de hele wereld eren.
De modellen van de catwalk waren gehuld in Siciliaanse jurken van zwart satijn en kant, mantelpakjes, jassen en jurken in zachtroze, wit, rood en donkergroen. Het themamotief was, hoe kan het ook anders, rode rozen die over de collectie leek te zijn uitgestrooid of juist was uitvergroot als applicatie. Veel modellen liepen hand in hand met hun eigen kinderen of droegen hun baby’s in de armen, uiteraard gehuld in de babykleding en kinderkleding van D&G matchend met die van hun moeder.
